A handful of South Delta filmmakers took home awards from the 17th annual EyeLens Film, Video and Animation Festival last month in Victoria.
Sam Cummings, Simon Baird, Darsey Meredith and Brittney Sylvester were among the winners at the event, which serves as the annual prize festival for the Gulf Islands Film and Television School.
There were over 140 videos entered, all of which were produced at The Gulf Islands Film and Television School (GIFTS) during the 2011. Twenty-one films emerged victorious in 23 categories with two films taking home two awards.
The festival also featured a performance by a Vancouver-based improv troupe as well as a keynote presentation by award winning filmmaker Bart Simpson.
GIFTS is a rural film camp on Galiano Island.
