CONTEST RULES
1. Contest period: The Gulf Islands Film & Television School’s “Enter to Win an IPOD” contest begins at 8:00 PM (PST) on Thursday, April 20, 2006 and concludes at 5:00 PM (PST) on Monday, June 12, 2006.
2. TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, go to the The Gulf Islands Film & Television School’s web site at http://www.giftsfilms.com/contest/ and complete the entry form for your chance to win. Complete and submit an on-line entry form containing your name and e-mail address. LIMIT OF ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PER DAY AND LIMIT OF ONE ENTRY PER EMAIL ADDRESS PER DAY. Each entry must be an original. Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the holder of the e-mail account and the holder of that account must meet all eligibility requirements. Multiple entries by the same person or from the same e-mail address in one day may result in disqualification. Entries must be after 9:00 PM PST will be considered entries received for the next day. All entries must be received by at 5:00 PM (PST) on Monday, June 12, 2006 (the contest closing date) to be eligible.
3. Winner Selection: four (4) eligible prize winners will be chosen at random from all of the correctly completed eligible Entry Form entries that are submitted. Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received. Please note that it may take anywhere from 30-90 days for the prize to arrive from the time the prize is awarded.
4. Notification: If you have been chosen as an eligible winner in this contest you will be contacted by email by an employee of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 after the draw. The draw will be conducted on Galiano Island at the of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School offices on Tuesday, June 13, 2006. The potential winner will be subjected to full compliance with paragraph 5 below.
5. How to be Declared a Winner: Before declaring a winner, each selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered via e-mail by a The Gulf Islands Film & Television School representative. If the eligible winner cannot be reached by email on, Thursday, June 15, 2006 (“first contact”), and cannot be contacted within 72 hours after first contact by the The Gulf Islands Film & Television School representative, or the eligible winner does not correctly answer the skill-testing question or satisfy all of the contest conditions for eligibility, he/she will be required to comply with these Rules and Regulations in full. In the event that other potential winners are disqualified, the selection process shall continue until a successful winner has been determined. Winners may be required to sign a standard form releasing The Gulf Islands Film & Television School from all liability relating to the prizes, confirming compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the prizes as awarded and provide photographic identification proving he/she is the person selected as the winner. Prizes are as awarded, and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or refunded. All prizing is strictly subject to availability and restrictions if there are any.

Eligibility: Prize is open only to residents of British Columbia, except employees (and immediate family and household member of such employees) of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, suppliers, printers, distributors, and advertising and promotion agencies and immediate families and household members. In these Rules, “immediate family” means spouse, domestic partner, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mother and father, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. All entrants must be at lease 19 years of age. By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and regulations.

The Gulf Islands Film & Television School nor it’s agents accept any responsibility for loss, damage, or claims caused by, related to, or in any way resulting from the prize, its exercise or acceptance. By entering the contest, each declared winner consents to the use of his/her name, likeness, image, or photograph, for any and all programming and or publicity, promotion, or advertising purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media and formats used by The Gulf Islands Film & Television School or its agencies, without further compensation, throughout the world in perpetuity.
9. This contest is subject to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws. All contests are VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
10. In the event of a dispute the decisions of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School are final. All entries become the permanent property of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School.
11. Release: By entering this contest, entrants confirm that they have read and understood these Rules. Entrants also agree, should they become the eligible winner, that they will sign a release form releasing The Gulf Islands Film & Television School or it’s agents, all respective affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies, from any and all claims or liability of any kind arising from or in connection with this contest or a prize, including, without limitation, claims, or liability in connection with the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize as awarded.

Disclaimer: All entries become the property of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School, who shall have no liability for lost, stolen, late, damaged, or misdirected entries; for any failure of the web site during the promotional period; for any problems of technical malfunction or any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, or software; for failure of any email or entry to be received by The Gulf Islands Film & Television School or it’s agents for any reason including, without limitation, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or any web site, or any combination thereof; or for any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the contest. All entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, incomplete, forged, falsified, altered, or tampered with in any way.
13. General:
a) The Gulf Islands Film & Television School reserves the right to terminate, amend, or suspend this contest or any part thereof at any time, without prior notice, if any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, The Gulf Islands Film & Television School reserves the right, in their sole discretion and without prior notice to terminate, amend, or suspend the email portion of this contest should a virus or bug, unauthorized intervention, technical failure or other cause, beyond the reasonable control of The Gulf Islands Film & Television School, corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, The Gulf Islands Film & Television School reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Any individual who tampers with the entry process, who acts in violation of these Rules, or who attempts to undermine the administration, security, or proper conduct of the contest is subject to disqualification.
b) The use of any automated equipment to participate in this contest is prohibited and will instantly disqualify any entrant. The Gulf Islands Film & Television School will not be responsible for any error, omission, interruption, defect, or delay in any transmission or communication, for theft, destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries or for any technical problem including but not limited to any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation from downloading or copying any materials in the contest. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted the entry, “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Service Provider (ISP), Internet Access Provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. In the event of a dispute, the potential winner may be required to provide The Gulf Islands Film & Television School with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the potentially winning entry.
