GIFTS' PTP = Professional Training Program

* 70 hours of intense Professional Training from Vancouver's top Industry Professionals!

* Designed for serious students ready to take the next step in their filmmaking careers!

* Weekend program running every Saturday in Vancouver for 6 consecutive weeks!

* Two Sessions to choose from: November 07 - December 13, 2009 or January 16 - February 21, 2010.

NEW to GIFTS: the Professional Training Program; designed exclusively for GIFTS alumni ready to jump start their filmmaking career with real industry training. The PTP program will have two Intakes: November 2009 and January 2010. Both intakes will feature 6 consecutive Saturday workshops from Vancouver's top Industry Pro's. Interested students must apply online by completing the online application form below. Each intake is limited to only 12 students! Recommended age: 16-21 yrs.

More Details:

• 6 Consecutive Intensive Saturday Workshops.
• 5 Saturday workshops @ Shoreline Studios in Vancouver. The final (6th) Saturday will spent on Galiano Island at GIFTS.
• Workshops and seminars will be with international directors, producers, writers & camera operators.
• Students will write, prep, shoot and edit a short film in groups following the GIFTS tradition.
• Students will hold auditions for their films at a casting studio in Vancouver.
• Each intake will also include a field trip to a professional studio, production house, or set.
• PTP Program Director, Rachael Fortier, is one of the original alumni from GIFTS. She is now a member of the Directors Guild of Canada and has been working full time in the film industry since 2002. She is currently working as an Assistant Director for major motion pictures and hit TV series. Rachael also remains active in the independent film world, working on projects when time permits. With the Professional Training Program she hopes to educate and open the door for aspiring young film makers in Hollywood North!
• Program Cost = $750.00 - Limited to 12 students only per intake.
• Students will be selected by the Program Director and the GIFTS Administration Team based upon their application, experience, and aspirations.
• Application Deadlines: October 15th for the November Intake. December 1st for the January Intake.
