Professional Development Weekend Program

May 11-May 13

This weekend program is primarily designed for high or middle school teachers interested in teaching media literacy, script writing, video production, and visual effects & animation. The emphasis of the program is on process rather than product, and includes ongoing discussion of various teaching techniques proven effective in training youth in video production. Students may choose to focus on Pre-production and production OR production and post-production

SAMPLE PRO-D WEEKEND PROGRAM SCHEDULE (varies based on focus)

• Fri: Arrive late morning. Intro to weekend, media literacy, screenwriting and documentary workshops, visual storytelling .
• Sat: Tech workshop/camera/lights/sound, in-camera exercise, editing workshops, edit til you drop, screening of work
  
• Sun: Return home on morning ferries
