GIFTS computer animation students are given an intensive introduction to Autodesk 3D Studio MAX. Students spend two days learning the program through a series of tutorials, gaining the skills necessary to complete their animation. During a round table brainstorming session, story ideas are discussed and a consensus is met as to what the final project will be. Then the students story board their ideas, breaking them down into scenes that are distributed amongst the group. The characters and backgrounds of the scenes are then created over a day and a half.

Next, it's on to animating the scenes that were assigned during the brainstorming session. You're in control of where the lights, camera and action take place! Students will also learn networking and image capturing skills, and will be encouraged to integrate video into their projects to produce spectacular special effects.

No experience necessary.
