G.I.F.T.S. Scholarships for Year 10 Gulf Islands Film & Television School is celebrating our 10th year in 2004 with a big big BIG scholarship award program. During every week-long session, 21 in all, we are awarding four scholarships worth half tuition costs ($340 each). That is a whopping 84 scholarships! Submit a short (up to 250 words) essay, story, poem, song, picture, drawing or video that expresses your PASSION to create media. Don't forget to include your phone number, address, email address and your first and second choice of award. The deadline is 6 weeks prior to each session date. The first deadline is February 1, 2004 for the March 14 session & the last, September 5 for October 17. Each group of 4 scholarship winners will form a team and produce a video/film/animation that includes the theme of the Award - i.e. environmental, cinematography, etc. These content/focus influenced productions will further support G.I.F.T.S.' mission to facilitate media producers creating stories that matter-artistically and politically. Financial Aid
We strongly encourage students to fundraise in their local communities and to seek out funding opportunities wherever possible. Please see our fundraising page for more information. AMES and GIFTS are offering bursaries to students in financial need, and are awarded on an ongoing basis. Bursaries range from $100 to $600 in value, and take into consideration your history, your family's financial means, your commitment, and your current level of access to education in media production.
