2003 MIP Sessions with DVE Streams |
This course is designed for students who wish to explore video as a special effects medium and will provide the necessary skills needed to produce professional quality videos with maximum creative potential. Using software such as Adobe After Effects and Cinestream, students will produce a 3-5 minute experimental video. Extended time spent in post-production will involve the manipulation of video similar to the way that still images are manipulated by software such as Adobe PhotoShop.
This allows the creator to have unprecedented control over an image's color, size, position and shape, not to mention the myriad of digital effects that can be created (ex: blurring, twirling, twisting, stretching). "Blue Screen" compositing is also possible; the technique used by Hollywood to superimpose one live image over another manufactured one. Students will also be given the opportunity to do an extensive sound-mix using non-linear sound editing and music creation software packages.
