See BC on CBC
Are you the proud producer of a hot BC based documentary? Are you a BC
filmmaker with a swell short drama? Are you sensing a theme behind these
questions?
CBC Television British Columbia is currently acquiring
material for a regional programming strand called See BC on CBC. It's
Saturday nights, after Hockey Night in Canada, and it's all about telling
BC stories.
A recent example is the Remembrance Day Special which
featured Stille, a poetic montage of archival footage by local filmmaker
Wendy Oberlander. Coming up next month - Ric Beairsto's documentary Stand-Up
Samurais explores the life of comics on the road in BC.
The timeslot is one-hour in length which lends itself
to approximately 44-minutes of programming. Content may be filled by one
film or a compilation of works by different filmmakers.
