Forget big budget, Hollywood-style depictions of "Native culture", as they'll soon be outdated museum pieces. The cultural revival taking place amongst Aboriginal communities represents the true diversity of cultures indigenous to the continent. The Gulf Islands Film and Television School has expanded its commitment to media democracy by creating a new Media Intensive session for Aboriginal media producers.

This course is our regular Media Intensive curriculum, with local Aboriginal peoples hosting and extra attention given to Aboriginal issues. Our instructional staff will be mostly Aboriginal, and we are aiming to provide a safe, production streamsed, creative environment with an emphasis on cultural respect.

Please see our funding page for funding suggestions, including Aboriginal-specific links. For financial aid from GIFTS, visit our financial aid page. You can also download the bursary form by clicking here.
