This weekend program is designed for adults and teachers interested in learning and/or teaching media literacy, script writing, video production, and visual effects & animation. The emphasis of the program is on process rather than product, and includes ongoing discussion of various teaching techniques proven effective in training youth in video production. Students may choose to focus on Pre-production and production OR production and post-production

SAMPLE WEEKEND PROGRAM SCHEDULE (varies based on focus)

Schedule changes depending on province-wide Professional Development day.

• Fri: Arrive evening/morning: Intro to weekend, group orientation.
• Sat. morning/Fri afternoon & evening:  Media literacy, screenwriting and documentary workshops, visual storytelling.  Tech workshop/camera/lights/sound, in-camera exercise,
• Sat afternoon/Sat morning: Editing workshops, edit,
• Sun/Sat afternoon 'til Sunday: Additional Post-Production time, animation, visual effects, compositing workshops, opportunity for one-on-one time with production mentors, all teachers leave with resource package, Return home on late-afternoon/evening ferries (students may leave Sun AM if necessary - out of province travel etc)
