Happy Halloween from GIFTS!
As some of you may or may not know The Gulf Islands Film and Television School was purchased by former Alumni Evan Allen and Barbara Allen.Evan a Director, Props Masters, Musician, Actor, Editor and GIFTS Mentor. We had an incredible first year behind the helm and it looks as though 2015 is going to be a great year again with 7 school groups already booked. We had fun with our new glide cam (Steadicam). Charlie Schrodt one of our new mentors brought along his drone which led to some amazing aerial shots for the students films. Our new wardrobe trailer, make up and prop room were put to new use. We even have freshly painted rooms and washrooms. The soundtrack course was revamped with incredible results. We are looking forward to 2015!

Eyelens Film and Animation Festival
We are in the early development phase to re-rejuvenate the 20th annual Eyelens Film and Animation Festival. We are looking into the Allen families home town of Nanaimo BC for possible locations for the festival. We will be featuring film selections from the 2013-2014 Seasons at GIFTS.

G.I.P.D - A GIFTS ORIGINAL WEB SERIES PILOT
Over the summer of 2014. GIFTS staff, students, interns and mentors all worked together to produce a web series pilot called G.I.P.D. G.I.P.D is about a pair of former G.I. Renegade cops who through ridiculous methods pursue and capture various villains such as Half Skull Face. G.I.P.D re-shoots have finished up on October 28th. That’s a wrap!
