Focus
: Ecology and Film
This course is for anyone who is interested in merging video art and ecology as a way of exploring their personal relationship to the natural world. Participants will be guided in how to refocus their senses to feel nature as a living web of interconnections they are a part of, and tap into their own creativity to translate this awareness into a short video piece.
The week will combine a short history of eco-art, guided and individual nature walks, small group projects, video and sound workshops, post production training and mentoring towards the creation of a short individual video project. The aim of this course is to re ignite a sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural ecosystems that sustain us, using the tools and skills of filmmaking to express and share this creative ecological awareness with others.
