Bully Files Scholarship Competition
The Bully Files are a scholarship program open exclusively to youth under the age of 18, affected directly by bullying. The program offers participants a chance to come to GIFTS and take part, meet other students with similar interests and find their own voice as filmmakers.
GIFTS is hoping to raise money to support this important program and bring 24 more youth in British Columbia to Galiano Island. We have launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds and we need your help to meet our target before May 26th, 2013. Please contribute anything you can and share the campaign to support a good cause at igg.me/at/thebullyfiles.
How to enter
You cannot do this alone. You’ll need to share the campaign with friends, family and followers and encourage them to donate on your behalf.
How to get others to donate to Indie GoGo on your behalf:
1. Once they complete their payment to the Bully Files, they should go to Contribution Summary details.
2. They should choose “Credit to someone else” and put in your name.
It’s always a good idea to make sure someone making a donation on your behalf completes this step, but if you cannot be present, direct your followers to this page so they can follow the steps themselves.
The winner will be announced on The GIFTS website and Social Media. Be sure to check back and see if you’re a winner on Monday May 27th 2013, then contact us with your information and register for the summer season.

HOW TO WIN
Every separate donation of $5.00 or more to our Bully Files IndieGoGo Campaign is an entry in the competition. You can donate and you can ask everyone else you know to enter on your behalf. That means you can enter as many times as your ambition allows. Just remember to ask others to credit their donation to you, so we can track the winners!

1st Prize – 2 Week Director’s Course (Includes Room & Board) – $1570.00 Value
2nd Prize – 1 Week Production Course (Includes Room & Board) – $860.00 Value
3rd Prize – 1 Week Production Course (Tuition Only) – $565.00 Value

WHO CAN ENTER?
The Gifts Scholarship Contest is open to everyone of all ages, but is being aimed at students in junior and secondary schools. ONLY British Columbia residents may enter. No hard feelings, you’re still free to apply for our regular scholarship programs at www.giftsfilms.com.
This competition is NOT open to students who have already registered for the 2013 summer season.
WHAT IF I’VE ALREAD ATTENDED GIFTS OR WANT TO TAKE A DIFFERENT COURSE?
You are always welcome back and you can apply the prize credit to another program if you have already taken the Production or Directors course. You can even apply if you’ve won a scholarship!
WHEN CAN I USE MY SCHOLARSHIP?
If you win, your scholarship must be used during the 2013 summer season. (Before August 31st 2013) There are NO restrictions, but if you register for a busy week space cannot be guaranteed.
STRATEGY & TIPS
It’s like selling band candy only you can win film training valued at over $1500.00! Use social media (twitter, Facebook, email) and pick up the phone to get as many supporters as possible. You can even help your grandparents donate by walking them through it! Just remember, there’s only two weeks to get as many donations as possible. They don’t have to be big, but there have to be a lot.
