GIFTS has been teaching media skills since 1995. Our belief is that the world we live in is under the growing influence of media messages. A mission of our school is to encourage filmmakers to think and act upon this reality. The foundation of GIFTS was built upon story telling and media literacy. Our goal for the summer of 2012 is to bring a select group of Canadian youth together that have a commitment to using the powerful and ubiquitous tools of today’s digital new world order. I hope that you will encourage students to enter this contest which will help raise their awareness of media’s central role in shaping our value systems.
